Warning: This hack results in more work done and less stress.
Follow your daily timesheet board in HourStack to begin working on your scheduled work right away, use Slack to open the communication line with the team, and check out your Asana inbox for comments and updates from the team on tasks you are working on or following.
2. How do you end your day?
3. How do you handle requests received during the day?
As tasks and requests come up follow this easy rule: if it takes under 2 mins - do it. If it takes over 2 mins, add it to Asana and prioritize it among your tasks already there and scheduled on hourstack.
I setup my google chrome bookmark toolbar to always show. Then the first three bookmark buttons are for each of the three apps I open each day. The only reason I don't have them autoload with Chrome is to see the world clock by FIO on my home screen.
Now it's up to you to build a rhythm and habit around 1) how you start your day, 2) how you end your day, and 3) how you handle new requests received in the day. You can always ask your manager for help prioritizing your schedule.
